Cindy Chinn operates the controls for her Christmas light show installed on the old schoolhouse she owns in Chester, Nebraska (pop. 230). Chinn is a mural artist who moved from Las Vegas to Chester to purchase the former schoolhouse and convert it into a studio, residence and playground. The Journal Star reports: “Chinn’s ‘Christmas in Chester Light & Sound Show,’ now in its sixth year, uses more than 30,000 LED lights and 4,000 feet of wire and includes a 22 foot tall Christmas tree, two giant nutcrackers, a snowman nicknamed Chester, a herd of tiny reindeer and an inflatable helicopter.” Chinn says the light show is one way she thanks the community for supporting her work.
