NPR Examines Geography of Its Coverage. Is your state getting a fair shake in the amount of coverage it receives from National Public Radio? NPR Ombudsman Edward Schumacher Matos investigates the “persistent complaint” that the network has a regional bias that favors the East and West coasts over the center of the nation. Using data from six years of coverage, NPR created a map that shows the number of stories per state and per capita the network produced from 2006 2011.
