The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers told people in Hamburg, Iowa, to move out. A flood was coming. They didn’t move. They built their own levee and the town survived. Now the Corps wants the town to pay them millions of dollars and remove the structure that protected the town. Hamburg is asking people passing by on the highway to kick in the price of a latte to help the town save its levee. To donate, go here.
