We hold these truths — these sparklers, burgers and bugles — to be self-evident.

All over Yonder, we’re celebrating Independence Day. And as Bill-of-Rights-abiding citizens, we’ll do that in accordance with our own principles, thank you very much.

There’s the pursuit of happiness, sparkling with festivity in Cave City, Kentucky. There’s endurance in South Louisiana. And there’s mourning for our war dead across much of rural America.
