Where Presidential Candidates Go in the Countryside for Cash

The top presidential candidates all collected donations from rural residents in the first quarter of 2007. But they didn't harvest their cash from the same places. See where the top candidates went in rural America to fund their campaigns.

Paying for politics [2] is mostly an urban occupation. But some counties came through [3] for candidates.

The pattern of political support for the top seven candidates in the two major parties is many splendored. Bill Richardson did well in New Mexico, which is no surprise. John Edwards collected quite a bit of money in East Texas, which is. And Mitt Romney found surprising support in a exurb of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Rudy Giuliana has friends in Alabama and Barack Obama does quite well in Colorado ski country.
